Hyundai Motor India launched the Hyundai Venue iMT on 22nd July 2020.
But wait. what’s iMT you ask? well, it stands for Intelligent Manual Transmission. it’s basically the best of both worlds, manual and automatic transmission. The iMT has the same characteristics as a traditional manual gearbox, the caviar being no clutch pedal. which essentially means you shift gears the same way you would in a manual geared car with the exception of a clutch pedal.
The iMT transmission uses an intention sensor with the gear lever, this sensor then sends the signal to the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) to change gear if it senses the driver is about to do so. The TCU then signals a hydraulic actuator to engage and disengage the clutch plate while the driver shifts gears.

The Venue iMT is paired to the kappa 1.0 Turbo GDI engine producing a healthy 120hp and 171.61Nm of torque.
I for one can’t wait to try out the venue iMT, sounds interesting doesn’t it?
prices range from 9.99-11.21 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end SX(O) Sport Package variant.
