Renault India have launched the much awaited Duster 1.3L Turbo Petrol. The car was showcased at the 2020 Delhi auto expo and was only recogonised by those keen observers as it still retains the same design language of the normal duster with the addition of some Red accents on the grill, front bumper and the “Duster” script on the rear. It gets new 17 inch Diamond cut alloy wheels which look rather good on the car.
The interiors stay the same. Renault haven’t made any changes to the Turbo variants interior. Although, it would’ve been nice to see the red accent theme continue to the interior.
Talking about features, Renault have added remote pre-cooling, Hill start assist and ESP. Keep in mind that Hill start assist and ESP are available only with the CVT option. All the other features have been carried over from the regular duster.
Now, the biggest change is seen under the hood. A new 1.3L Turbo Petrol engine that produces 156 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. This is class-leading power and a big step up from the older engines. Renault have co-developed this engine with Nissan and Daimler. A lot of new technology has gone into this engine which is why it’s able to produce so much power with such low displacement. In fact some tech in this engine is derived from the Nissan GT-R Supercar. This engine can be had with the option of either a 6-Speed manual or 7 step CVT gearbox.
Prices for the Duster Turbo petrol start at 10.49 lakh for the base RXE variant and go up to 13.59 lakh for the top-end RXZ CVT variant.
